1. Definition of Photovoltaic Solar Power Generation

Photovoltaic solar power generation is cutting-edge technology to convert sunlight, which is infinite and clean, to electric energy directly. The basic theory of Photovoltaic solar power generation is that, as solar battery (constituted by PN-Junction) gets sunlight, electromotive force is generated through photovoltaic effect, so that the current flows to the load connected from the outside. Solar battery (Cells) is produced by using high-durable material (Ingot), connected by series-parallel type and manufactured to solar battery plate (Module). These modules have problems that can¡¯t generate at night and because of the outside interference such as rain, snow or cloud. That makes generating unstable (Changeable capacity of electric power). So generally, Photovoltaic solar power generation system needs to be installed as a form of the solar battery array, which is connected in series-parallel type to supply electric power efficiently to a user. Also it needs PCS
(Power Conditioning System), which changes solar energy to maximum power and required power for load. In case, the extra storage battery for storing electric power can be required.

2. Types of Photovoltaic Solar Power Generation System

* Independent / Hybrid System
a. Solar battery part: The part which converts solar energy to electric energy; battery plate and installing device
b. Power controller: Controls the power generated from solar battery plate and prevents overcharge/discharge of the battery.
c. storage battery: Supplies the power to load in case power, generated from solar battery plate, is lacked or at night or under bad weather.
d. Inverter: Converts direct current energy to alternating current energy.

* Grid-Connected System

a. Solar battery part: The part which converts solar energy to electric energy; battery plate and installing device
b. Grid-Connected Inverter: supplies electric power,
In case of sunny weather, to the load after converting to
AC electric power generated from solar battery plate.
In case of night or bad weather, to the load from the grid
c. Monitoring System: Monitoring the output, load and system of Photovoltaic solar power generation
